Please contact me as far in advance BEFORE your little one arrives!What am I getting?1 set of 4x6 proofs1 high resolution disc with all edited pictures with print release (approximately 40 images)When is the best time for newborn pictures?I prefer newborns who are 4-8 days old. Between these days they are the sleepiest and are more easily moved into the poses desired. Also, baby acne usually starts to flare up around 2 weeks, so the earlier you can schedule, the better!Where do we go?I prefer to have the session be at your home, with all your familiar sounds/smells/atmosphere so you and your newborn are most comfortable and at ease. I work with natural light, so usually the largest window in the home will most likely be my choice to set up by.**a travel fee will apply 25 miles outside of Granite City, IL**How should I prepare for my babys newborn session?To ensure a deep slumbered baby, s/he should have a full tummy upon my arrival. If mom and dad, and/or siblings would like to be in the pictures, have solid black, white, or neutral colored shirts at hand. While baby is nude with no diaper for these portraits, there will most likely be accidents, so make sure the shirts are washable. What about props?I will bring a backdrop and a variety of props for your newborn session. I will also use many of the baby blankets that you already have. I also might use "props" that you have already in your house such as a basket/chair/stool. Please let me know if you have any favorite props that you have seen in my previous sessions, so I will be sure to bring them! Also, many of my poses seem possibly dangerous or unstable, but in all of the shots, mom or dads hands are safely on the baby and I have removed them digitally. Let me know if you have any other concerns on my poses or props!How long will my newborn session last?I do not have a time set on how long I will stay at a newborn session. The poses that I try to create take much patience and many tries to get completely right. Feedings may also occur in between. It could take anywhere from 2-4 hours to get all of the poses desired. When do I get my pictures?I will deliver your disc and 4x6 prints 2-3 weeks from the date of your session.
